Daleeni privacy policy (English)

Daleeni is a navigation app by Basma Smart. It needs no account and never asks for your name, phone number or email. Maps, routing and search run on your phone and work offline.

Stays on your phone: your location, your route and destination, what you type or say in search, and your saved places.

Sent to our server, and why:

• Road speed for traffic: only while you drive, the road segment you are on and your speed, with a random trip number that changes every 10 minutes. No name or device ID, so we cannot tell who you are or trace your route. Raw measurements are not stored; only per-road averages are kept.
• Reports: if you report a checkpoint, accident or closed road, its type and location are shared with drivers behind you and expire automatically.
• Places you add: name, type and location, with a random number from your phone so you can delete it yourself. When you vote on a place, your location at that moment is sent to confirm you are nearby.
• Suggestions: the text you write, your city and the app version, so we can read it and reply.
• Install counter: a random number generated on your phone, sent with update checks, suggestions and notifications, so we can count users and deliver replies. It contains no name or device ID and is deleted when you uninstall.
• Server logs: like any website, the IP address and time of each request, kept for 14 days to protect the service from abuse, then deleted automatically.

Microphone: used only when you open search, by tapping the mic button or automatically when you open search while driving. Speech is turned into text by your phone's own Android speech service. Daleeni does not record your voice or send it to our server.

Location during navigation: Daleeni uses your location while it is on screen. Only during navigation does it keep receiving location after you leave the app or turn the screen off, so it can keep announcing turns, with a visible "Daleeni is guiding you" notification the whole time. Without navigation, location stops as soon as you leave the app.

Notifications: to deliver replies and news on time, we use Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging. It sends your phone an empty message telling it to check our server, and the notification text comes directly from our server without passing through Google. Google receives a random app installation ID, the app version, your device type and system version, your IP address as part of the connection, and a one-way fingerprint of the install counter used to route replies. It does not receive your location, route or searches. On phones without Google services, notifications arrive when you open the app or within a few hours.

Sharing: we do not sell any data, and we share none with anyone apart from the notification service described above. There are no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics. All traffic is encrypted.

Deletion and contact: delete places you added inside the app. For anything else, or to delete a suggestion, email basmasmartiq@gmail.com. Daleeni is not directed at children under 13.
